Buoy Weather – Reliable graphical models built by the folks at Buoyweather.com using NOAA data from “virtual buoys” located off-shore of the Charleston area (Approximate for Charleston). Provides open ocean sea and swell information to include primary swell direction, sustained wind speeds, maximum gusts, swell size (in feet), and swell period out to 72 hours. Also contains short term surf forecasts at the top of the page.

WetSand - Detailed 7 day forecasts for wave heights, swell period, and wind speeds between South Carolina and Floridia.

NOAA Wave Watch III - NOAA site for regionally predicting ocean wave heights, swell direction, wind direction, windspeed, and wave period as far out as 180 hours. See model above.

Magic Seaweed for South Carolina and Georgia - Surf Reports, swell models, downloadable weather tools, and more for all the East Coast, as well as Georgia and South Carolina.

Hurricane Tracking:
Weather Underground - A great site for tracking storms and viewing the most popular storm models. met.psu.edu - A list of the most popular tools for tracking and predicting tropical activity from Penn State University. This page has been experiencing technical issues lately. Crown Weather Services - A complete collection of tropical cyclone tracking information. Includes textual and graphical tracking data for named storms affecting the Carolina coast.

Ocean Surf Shop – 843-937-6000, dial SURF for current conditions and daily forecast.
National Weather Service Marine Forecast – 843-747-5859. Follow the menu to get the current conditions at the airport and in the harbor, the marine forecast, tide information, and Charleston harbor water temperature.

Marine Forecast - Local wind and seas forecasts from NOAA.

Farmers Almanac -This is a great and reliable resource for long range weather predictions and trend spotting.
